Leading Nonprofit Ensures Privacy and Compliance Through Role-Based Access Control
Overview As a nonprofit organization for people who are blind and partially sighted, Lighthouse International places the highest importance on protecting the privacy of the people relying on its services. To increase operational efficiency and address increased patient privacy regulations, Lighthouse set out to launch a new system for managing patient care. The new system would support a wide range of users both internal and external to the organization. The result was a secure application developed by using the Microsoft .NET Framework that manages and optimizes the delivery of rehabilitation therapies. Lighthouse integrated flexible role-based access control using Microsoft Authorization Manager, enabling application administrators to easily assign access to users based on their job function.
