NASA's World Wind Puts the Planet at the Fingertips of Internet Users Anywhere
Overview World Wind is a program developed by the Ames Research Center Learning Technologies, a division of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Using the Microsoft .NET Framework, Microsoft Visual C# .NET, and Microsoft DirectX, World Wind enables anyone with a PC and a broadband Internet connection to take a virtual tour of the earth, seeing three-dimensional images of the planet collected over the years by NASA satellites. World Wind has proven to be a huge hit for NASA - more than 10 million versions have been downloaded since August 2004.
