SOA Challenges: Entity Aggregation

Overview Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is gaining widespread acceptance in the IT industry. It is used predominantly to connect traditionally separate software systems that are autonomous in nature. Nevertheless, the demand for a robust architecture like SOA, which responds to the demands of businesses to integrate internal or external service systems, is not without its challenges. These challenges make it difficult to realize SOA in an Enterprise. Some of the challenges that must resolved by Technical Architects when integrating systems include identity management, authorization in a distributed environment, Service Aggregation, and Entity Aggregation. The focus of this paper is on Entity Aggregation (EA). Specifically, it looks at the problem context and situations that require integration of information present in different systems.
