Web Services Security Interoperability Using Web Services Enhancement 2.0 and Systinet Server 5.0 for Java

Overview Web Services Security (WS-Security) is a specification to enable security for Web services, specifically through message integrity, message confidentiality, and single message authentication. Many vendors are now starting to provide implementations of WS-Security. Microsoft offers OASIS WS-Security 1.0 support in WSE (Web Services Enhancements) 2.0, a download from MSDN that compliments the Web services support in the .NET Framework. Systinet offers Server for Java 5.0 along with the Web services security framework, which can be downloaded from their site. This paper covers techniques to send secure messages between the Microsoft .NET Framework and J2SE using Microsoft WSE 2.0 and Systinet Server for Java 5.0, both of which support the OASIS WSS 1.0 standard.
