Service Oriented Sensor Web

Overview The Sensor Web is an emerging trend which makes various types of web-resident sensors, instruments, image devices, and repositories of sensor data, discoverable, accessible, and controllable via the World Wide Web. A lot of effort has been invested in order to overcome the obstacles associated with connecting and sharing these heterogeneous sensor resources. This paper emphasizes the Sensor Web Enablement (SWE) standard defined by the OpenGIS Consortium (OGC), which is composed of a set of specifications, including SensorML, Observation & Measurement, Sensor Collection Service, Sensor Planning Service and Web Notification Service.
