Overview The need for Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) has brought about first and foremost by non-stop changing businesses. New products, new customers and ambitious business process management implay ongoing software modifications. The current symbiotic integration of enterprise resource planning systems, legacy systems and other enterprise applications cause out of control costs as changes occure and these integration failures make businesses fail to achieve potential revenues. Data collection for this paper comes from the case company Retail Business System (RBS), a market-leading Swedish retail solution vendor. The process of designing the right scale and content of services that are reusable in multiple business experiences is studied.
