Golf Equipment Manufacturer Drives Deployment Costs Down 60 Percent

Overview PING prides itself on its use of technology and innovation to help design and build golf equipment known world-wide. During an inventory it was discovered that there were several business processes running on a single server apiece. These servers ranged from hardware that was no longer supported, workstation-class boxes utilized as a server, and applications that faced limited support for new hardware and new operating systems. Some applications were no longer supportable by the original companies. Using Microsoft Virtual Server 2005, PING created images of these seven servers and migrated them to a single server-class computer.
