Microsoft's genuine software programs - which are more than a year old - enable customers to quickly and easily verify if they are running an authentic version of Microsoft Windows or Office, using a validation mechanism through the Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) and Office Genuine Advantage (OGA) web sites. And at the same time, these programs enable Microsoft to responsibly protect its own intellectual property.
