Italian Steel Manufacturer Integrates IT Environment, Improves Efficiency
Overview The CO.GE.ME. Group completed the final phase of its reorganization of the company and its IT system. Having abandoned its old UNIX environment, the company created an infrastructure based entirely on Microsoft software. Beginning with the automatic management system for production equipment developed on the Microsoft .NET Framework, the new information system reaches across the entire company: Microsoft Business Solutions - Navision (now part of Microsoft Dynamics) for all activities related to management and logistics (through the use of Wi-Fi networks and mobile terminals), Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services for business intelligence, and Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services for customer relationship management and management of the paper trail.
