France 3 Decentralizes for Efficiency and Cost Savings

Overview France 3 is a public television channel owned by France Televisions. It employs 1,300 journalists and is Europe's biggest televised news operator. France 3 wanted to improve the efficiency and generate operational savings and use automated management tools to provide consistent support across 90 regional offices. To tackle this challenge France 3 installed an enterprise portal called In3net, based on Oracle Portal and Oracle Application Server 10g, to provide a continuous link between staff members, two thirds of whom are based in the regions. The company used a single Oracle Internet Directory, part of Oracle Application Server 10g, to provide common access to data for every member of France3's staff.
