The challenge was to find a database that provides integration, flexibility, and security at a reasonable cost and increase system availability, which was limited by previous business challenges. They also wanted to reduce sales loss risk, which was a problem due to the previously inefficient process. This was solved by consolidating information systems with Oracle Database 10g, providing new levels of reliability, integrity, and robustness company-wide. It reduced the risk of sales losses in the event of a system crash with Real Oracle Application Clusters 10g and increased system availability to 99.9%.
