The Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) - Implications for UK Financial Services Companies

Overview The new MiFID directive requires all UK and European financial services companies to comply with new guidelines which call for extensive changes to client related information tranasaction reporting and record keeping obligations by November 2007. MiFID represents both a huge opportunity for UK organisations to increase their international client base, as well as a potential threat from increased competition and an increase in the cost of operation. What is required now, argues Touchstone Group in its white paper, is the need for clear and straightforward guidance that will help financial services institutions achieve MiFID compliance.
