Leading Medical Center Upgrades Operating System to Optimize Security, Manageability

Overview The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) has a strong tradition of using technology to support medical excellence. UPMC adopts new technology to make a positive difference for patients, increase operational efficiency, and safeguard internal and patient-related information. To that end, the organization began an upgrade of its 30,000 client computers, moving to the Windows Vista operating system from a heterogeneous environment composed of the Windows XP Professional and Windows 2000 operating systems.
