German Pharmaceutical Firm Prescribes Windows Server 2003 for Increasing Efficiency of Network Administration

Overview German pharmaceutical firm Merckle GmbH is finding it significantly easier to support corporate network and desktop users since deploying the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 operating system to replace its aging Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Server infrastructure. The company has also upgraded its desktop operating systems with Microsoft Windows XP Professional. Using Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Active Directory directory service, Merckle has collapsed an unwieldy 25-domain system into a single domain. System administrators enjoy the efficiencies of Remote Administration, and calls to the company's internal help desk are down because Administrative Delegation is being used to empower key managers with the ability to perform basic network administrative functions such as password resets.
