Sugar Refinery Grows Business With More Efficient Communications Platform
Overview Ingenio y Refineria San Martin del Tabacal (Tabacal) operates a sugar refinery in northern Argentina. An aging, poorly integrated IT infrastructure impeded Tabacal's growth plans, employee productivity, and communication with remote plantations, distribution centers, partners, and customers. IT staff faced daily server problems at remote facilities, and employees spent too much time manually compensating for poorly integrated, inflexible enterprise resource planning and messaging products. To address these issues, Tabacal upgraded to Microsoft Windows Server System and deployed Microsoft Business Solutions - Great Plains (now part of Microsoft Dynamics) to create a powerful and connected infrastructure that costs less to manage.
