Foundation Lowers Cost of Ownership With Switch From Linux to Microsoft

Overview The Padre Anchieta Foundation, which runs a TV station and two radio stations in Brazil, wanted to modernize its Linux-based IT infrastructure. The foundation was using a decentralized system based on technology that was several years old. With help from Microsoft partner Brasoftware, it conducted a cost analysis and measured its technology demands. Based on that information, the Padre Anchieta Foundation decided to migrate from the Linux system. It deployed Microsoft software such as Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Systems Management Server 2003, and Exchange Server 2003. By deploying the new solution, the foundation has lowered its cost of ownership through reduced management and training costs. It has also gained a centralized, collaborative environment that offers improved stability and security.
