Manufacturer Uses Communication Solution to Boost Productivity, Drive Foreign Business

Overview Tabacalera del Este (TABESA), based in Paraguay, is one of the largest cigarette manufacturers in Latin America. It had an outdated Linux messaging solution that did not provide a secure remote connection for travelling executives who were building up international market share, or a framework through which all employees could safely enjoy e-mail access on their own computers. TABESA replaced its open-source products with an integrated Microsoft communication and collaboration solution. Now everyone has Internet access and TABESA can rely on a messaging solution that promotes safety for staff, both in the office and on the road. Collaborative sites on the intranet support teamwork and provide a way to manage information.
