A Variational Approach to Calibration of Multiple Cameras

Overview This paper addresses the problem of calibrating camera parameters such as lens distortion and color scaling using variational methods. The paper presents multi-view stereo techniques based on variational ideas to evolve pose parameters of a 3D model object to take advantage of the known shape of calibration objects, and to reduce computational complexity; evolve distortion parameters of cameras given a 3D model shape; and evolve color calibration parameters of cameras given a 3D model shape.
