Pulling All-Nighters to Recover From Network Attacks No Longer Part of IS Curriculum, Thanks to Symantec Sygate Software

Overview With more than 14,000 users connected to its network, Temple University was plagued with crippling attacks and illegal file-sharing. Those problems are largely gone, thanks to Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition and Symantec Sygate Enterprise Protection software. Not a single threat has penetrated the network in more than a year, and allegations of copyright violations are down 73 percent. In addition, the university has reclaimed over six weeks of staff time a year to focus on forward-looking projects such as 802.1X.
