Music Giant Implements Business Intelligence System to Monitor the Organisation's Heartbeat

Overview Global music company EMI Music is evolving its business to capitalise on the growth opportunities created by the digital revolution. To maintain its leadership position and be capable of responding quickly to meet demand for new music products and services, EMI has partnered with Microsoft and identified a series of core projects that will help its business model evolve. One of these projects focuses on Management Information (MI) and the delivery of a new, global portal known internally as Pulse. The portal allows the company's 6,000 users to analyse business and sales data to compare cross-territory performance and to benchmark the company's overall performance. Pulse is based on Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003.
