Integrated and Correlated Enterprise Management With the Open Management Interface Specification

Overview The Open Management Interface (OMI) is a standards-based management specification that allows applications and management platform to collaborate and provide rich, fully integrated, application specific management. Using the OMI specification, application vendors represent their environment and share real-time management information to an enterprise-wide management platform. While its roots are in the Enterprise Application or Business Integration domain, the OMI specification is fully extensible and applicable in any application environment. This white paper introduces OMI in the context of the Enterprise Application Integration domain to explain OMI. A summary of the specification is provided as well.
