Blade Server Benefits: Evaluating New Server Technology in an IT Environment

Overview This paper describes the Proof-of-Concept (PoC) study to explore the benefits and risks of integrating blade server technology into the existing infrastructure. One also looked at physical installation and power utilization of blade servers. For this effort, it is recruited a company-wide team of experts in areas such as Storage Area Network (SAN), networking, systems management, platform, and data center technologies to carry out the study.
