High Availability HP Solutions Play Key Role in Denmark's Fight Against Crime

Overview Kriminalforsorgen is Denmark's Prison and Probation Service. Its job is to enforce the punishments imposed by the courts, and sophisticated IT has become the newest recruit in this fight against crime. Formed few years ago to provide standardised IT for both Kriminalforsorgen and the Danish Ministry of Justice, the datacentre was based around Windows HP ProLiant and Blade systems running commercial applications, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Exchange. However, business growth combined with need to increase efficiency and to provide new services meant that Kriminalforsorgen required higher data availability and security plus increased scalability. The answer was to invest in new HP storage and backup solutions including two HP StorageWorks ESL tape libraries and an HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array 5000 (EVA 5000) storage array.
