Oracle Database 10g Release 2 - Using Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) With Database Vault

Overview As part of securing the Oracle database environment, Oracle Database Vault prevents login as SYSDBA upon install. However, there are some Oracle features that still depend on the SYSDBA login for its operation. One of these features is Oracle Recovery MANager (RMAN). The users can follow the steps outlined in this white paper to allow RMAN login as SYSDBA where Database Vault is installed.
