aSIS Seeks Consolidation From HP

Overview In the face of sustained growth over several years, aSIS had to consider the question of expanding its server park - should it continue to invest in machines piecemeal, or should it bring physical resources together in blades and keep logical resources in disk arrays? The Savoye subsidiary selected the proposal from HP and its partner, Ares. HP's plus points were the versatility and flexibility of the proposed blades, namely four HP ProLiant blade servers with two AMD Opteron processors, and two HP Integrity BL60p blade servers with two Intel Itanium 2 processors.
