Oracle Case Study: Russell
Overview In 1999, Russell Investment Group selected a PeopleSoft Enterprise HRMS solution from Oracle but was forced to wait more than a year before beginning the implementation. Because Russell's 12-year-old DOS-based system was not meeting its needs, on receiving the internal executive go-ahead, Russell sought to implement PeopleSoft Enterprise HRMS without delay. Russell lacked the resources and skills to do the job quickly, however, and hiring and training were out of the question. In addition, integrating with Russell's existing infrastructure would have complicated the implementation for IT and taken staff away from critical development functions. Russell chose PeopleSoft Enterprise Hosting to host PeopleSoft Enterprise HRMS 7.5 and PeopleSoft Enterprise Payroll Interface 7.5.
