Overview Founded in 1949, Simmons Foods is a vertically integrated poultry producer with operations that span from the farm to retail and restaurant commercial distribution channels. The company wanted to upgrade their technology infrastructure to enhance manufacturing efficiency, purchasing controls, product quality, and maintenance operations. They wanted to create an infrastructure to support product line and market expansion and minimize resistance to change in IT systems. The challenge was to continue tradition of low total cost of ownership while delivering best in class information. Simmons Foods implemented Oracle E-Business Suite applications to create an IT infrastructure based on a single source of data that improves operational efficiency and enables fact-based decisions.
