Microsoft Case Studies: Fauquier Hospital

Overview Fauquier Hospital is an 86-bed acute-care hospital located in Warrenton, Virginia. Over time, the not-for-profit facility built its computing infrastructure on heterogeneous computing technologies from Novell, Microsoft, and several third-party Hospital Information System (HIS) applications. The disparity in platforms - most notably on the servers - created security concerns, profile management issues, and unnecessary expenditures. As a result, the hospital opted to consolidate on Microsoft software, including Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. As part of the migration, Fauquier Hospital used GroupWise Migrator for Exchange from Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Quest Software.
