The Regione del Veneto Reaches a Higher Level of Efficiency in Financial Resources Management Using SAS OLAP
Overview Regione del Veneto (Veneto Region), one of 21 Italian regions, constitutes nearly a tenth of the national GDP and is the second region, behind Lombardy, in the contribution of Italian exports. Starting in 2002, the region's Direzione Bilancio (financial department) began reforming its accounting and budget regulations and needed a correlated information system. The regional administration required a system to improve internal control, cost analysis and benchmarking. The department chose SAS to analyze financial data and monitor the costs and expenses of every department in the region in order to achieve a higher level of efficiency in the area of financial resources management.
