Italian Broadcaster Boosts Revenue With New Media Asset Management Architecture

Overview RAdiotelevisione Italiana (RAI) holds the concession for public radio and television broadcasting in Italy. All RAI programmes produced are stored in the company's Teche Digital Archive, a multimedia resource comprising more than 690,000 hours of television and radio programmes. To safeguard this content, and encourage its reuse for revenue generation across a range of multimedia channels, RAI deployed a new Media Asset Management architecture based on Microsoft technology. This means 8,400 operators can search, view, and edit material directly on their own PCs, resulting in reduced production costs, enhanced product quality, and reuse of valuable content across multiple delivery channels.
