EDS Reduces Costs and Improves Security With New Automated Deployment Solution

Overview Technology solutions provider EDS operates a global network with more than 120,000 seats spread over different locations. Its IT team is charged with the task of installing business productivity applications across this network, including areas with bandwidth limitations. EDS required an automated software deployment solution similar to the services it provides for its customers. This system would also improve software security updates, eliminating the need to deploy updates on individual desktops. EDS chose a solution based on Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003, which supports rapid, automated deployment of applications to workstations.
