Certification Firm Cuts IT Costs by 47 Per Cent With Infrastructure Optimisation

Overview German company TUV NORD is a leader in consulting and testing activities for systems engineering and certification. A few years ago, the company's continued success prompted a major reorganisation and merger. This left it with a disparate infrastructure that affected personal productivity and management efficiency. Working with Microsoft Services, TÜV NORD unified the network using Microsoft technologies and launched a deployment programme based on the Microsoft Infrastructure Optimisation Initiative (IOI) framework. Today, using software such as Microsoft Windows Server 2003, the company has significantly reduced the infrastructure's total cost of ownership. In addition, the technology is more closely aligned with business growth, while people gain an IT service that supports greater productivity.
