Brodrene Johnsen Chooses IBM and Migrates to DB2 for SAP R/3 Enterprise

Overview Specialist engineering company Brodrene Johnsen manufactures high-precision control units for the offshore industry, requiring detailed process management to ensure quality, profitability and efficiency. Existing applications on Dell servers were unable to provide the required business reporting, and it was no longer cost-effective to upgrade the existing IT infrastructure. Brodrene Johnsen planned to migrate its existing SAP applications to SAP R/3 Enterprise software, to take advantage of more powerful reporting and analysis tools. The company implemented Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server on an IBM BladeCenter, with IBM Tivoli Storage Manager to automate data backup and recovery across a Storage Area Network based on an IBM TotalStorage DS4300 storage server and two DS400 disk cabinets.
