Overview Prevea is major player in its sector, insuring 183,600 individuals and 1,200 business clients. Prevea wanted to modernize its core-business management system, which had become obsolete and lacked potential for growth. The company wanted to support recent and ongoing health-sector reforms, including new European rules, new mutual insurance codes, social-security refund rules, and directions to channel health care through a referral to a general practitioner. The company implemented Oracle-based architecture as the foundation for a comprehensive enterprise resource planning system from Oracle Partner Protectia. The company relied on Oracle Database 10g with Real Application Clusters and Oracle Partitioning to guarantee flexible, high-powered access to data concerning its 183,600 insured.
