VoIP - IP Telephony White Papers
Infoblox Case Study: Gensler
Overview As Gensler planned to replace is traditional PBX phone system with a Voice over IP (VoIP) system, the team realized that the current Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) infrastructure could not withstand the demand that will be placed on it by the new application and thus could not ensure "Dial-tone" like reliability. Gensler decided to deploy its VoIP LANs separate from its data LANs to speed deployment and to more easily troubleshoot any issues that emerged with the new application. As Gensler narrowed its VoIP network infrastructure selection to Avaya offerings, they expressed concern about the IP address assignment (DHCP) infrastructure requirements. The Avaya team suggested that Gensler evaluate Infoblox solutions that have been tested and certified for seamless operation with Avaya VoIP systems.
