FDM - In the Drivers Seat With Citrix MetaFrame
Overview FDM (Forenede Danske Motorejere) was founded to keep its 215,000 members up to speed with motoring information - from buying a car to the implications of new laws. Maintaining the company's Novell Netware 3.12 servers in the individual offices was time-consuming, and FDM was incurring significant costs as IT staff travelled to each location. In addition, whenever the system went down in an office, employees connected to that server had to wait for a member of the support team - which could take up to 24 hours. After a successful trial, FDM worked with WM-data, a Platinum member of the Citrix Solutions Network, to roll out a complete application server computing solution based on Citrix MetaFrame with Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition.
