Data Warehouse Migration Saves Money, Improves Business Intelligence for UTA Telekom AG

Overview Following its acquisition of Netway, one of Austria's most successful internet providers, UTA faced data consolidation issues because its data warehouse in use wasn't capable absorbing all of Netway's data. An upgrade would have cost almost as much as a new system, so UTA decided to move the data warehouse onto Oracle Database, instead. The migration went quickly and required minimal code modifications. As an added benefit, running on Oracle gave UTA the opportunity to improve its hardware by switching to a cost effective and scalable SUN V880 midrange server.
