Pfizer Centralizes IT Management, Reduces Costs With New Messaging Environment

Overview Pfizer, the world's largest research-based pharmaceutical company, experienced rapid growth in a few short years when it merged with two other companies. That merger provided the company with an opportunity to upgrade the messaging and network environments of all three companies, consolidating them into one centralized, standardized global system. Pfizer worked with Microsoft and HP to migrate its users to Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, running on Microsoft Windows 2000 Server. Through diligent planning and hard work, the company moved more than 300,000 accounts and mailboxes in 21 months, the third-largest migration of its kind to date.
