Leading University Rolls Out Secure, Feature Rich, E-mail Environment to 16,000 Users
Overview Brunel University is a leading teaching and research institution in London. It has a reputation for innovation and leadership and these qualities have been frequently recognised by government organisations such as the Quality Assurance Agency. E-mail is a core tool in delivering effective teaching, learning, and educational support. In 2002, the University replaced its old UNIX-based messaging platform with communication and collaboration server Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server with Sybari's anti-virus solution, Antigen for Microsoft Exchange. Brunel then decided to build on this success and take advantage of enhanced functionality found in Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. Some 13,400 students and 2,600 staff have been moved to the new messaging solution and are benefiting from increased security features and significantly enhanced performance.
