State Agency Improves Decision-Making; Boosts Efficiency With Existing Infrastructure

Overview The Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) works to uphold the quality and safety of the state's animal feed-supply. Inspectors were using a paper-bound process for inspecting the state's feed manufacturing facilities, and for mailing inspection forms to CDA offices to be recorded manually. This double data-entry process was inefficient and potentially error-prone. Always looking to improve its efficiency, and with wide-spread government initiatives to leverage information technology, the CDA turned to the Microsoft Office System to help re-engineer its inspection process, upgrading to Microsoft Office Professional Enterprise Edition 2003 and using the Microsoft Office Information Bridge Framework to deliver inspection results to the familiar Microsoft Office Outlook 2003.
