Intel has developed a simulation tool to test for so-called 'soft errors' that could occur in modern microprocessor technology. The chip giant hopes that by using a simulation and modelling process, the number of errors can be reduced.
For Windows XP Service Pack 1, which Microsoft released last month, the error reporting tool helped resolve 29 per cent of the errors related to Windows and about one-third of third-party applications.
