IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler 8.2: Switch Fault Tolerance

Overview Switch Fault Tolerance offers additional resilience for the data being transferred. Switch Fault Tolerance is designed to improve fault tolerance in an IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler network. This feature removes a single point of failure and the possible loss of messages in the event a domain manager should fail. Switch Fault Tolerance is designed to help the operator keep the network up and running by selectively transferring the manager responsibility from one agent to another, in case of a failure whether planned or unplanned. Switch Fault Tolerance monitors circulating messages and will not allow them to disappear because one of the relaying agents fails.
