Migrating SAP to an HP Integrity and ProLiant Servers Platform Brings 30 Per Cent Saving for JT-International

Overview SAP enterprise resource planning applications are absolutely critical to the viability of JT-International. JTI provides SAP for 5,000 named users at 300 sites in 46 countries, from one single instance running out of Geneva. JTI wanted to move to a more open platform and to achieve benefits around ease of management, reliability, cost, flexibility and scalability. JTI made the significant decision to migrate its SAP installation to more open systems comprising a Microsoft Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition and Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Edition platform on clustered HP Integrity servers with Intel(Itanium)2 processors hosting the SAP R/3 database and ProLiant servers with AMD Opteron processors for the front-end application servers.
