Overview The Marine Corps Network Operations and Security Command (MCNOSC) provides global network operations and computer network protection for the Marine Corps Enterprise Network (MCEN), facilitating seamless information exchange to support Marine and Joint Forces around the world. One of Smartronix, Inc., a global professional solutions provider, was tasked by the MCNOSC to establish an alternate site to recover enterprise services in the case of catastrophic failure at the Marine Base at Quantico, Virginia. To achieve complete recovery and enablement capabilities for enterprise services at the MCNOSC alternate site, Smartronix considered several factors, all directly or indirectly related to real-time data transfer. Smartronix leveraged VMware VirtualCenter 2.0 and three VMware GSX Server 3.1 licenses for a VMware virtual infrastructure with Network Appliance storage solutions.
