Tasmanian Government Commits to IBM and Lotus Notes
Overview The Tasmanian Government has extended its commitment to using Lotus Notes and Domino Server software, renewing 3,000 existing Lotus Notes licences for five years, and purchasing an additional 1,000 for future use across other Departments. The acquisition of Lotus Software signals a 'Whole of government' approach to licensing under the guidance of the Department of Primary Industries, Water and Environment. Five other Government departments are using Lotus Notes as part of a collective IBM enterprise license agreement. Front line Departments such as Treasury, Police and Primary Industry are planning to use the backup and restore functionality available with IBM's Lotus Domino platform for disaster recovery purposes.
