Dimensioning Network Resources in DiffServ Over MPLS Based Expedited Forwarding Service Subclasses

Overview The authors use the highest Differentiated Service Code Point (DSCP) values in DiffServ architecture, and employ the traffic engineering possibilities through MPLS techniques in order to introduce new premium services by splitting the expedited forwarding service class into three premium service subclasses in MPLS enabled DiffServ network. Consequently, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) will be able to announce and provide their customers different premium services based on Service Level agreements (SLAs) accomplished between them.
