mySAP mySAP Supply Chain Management at Distell
Overview Individually, Stellenbosch Farmers' Winery (SFW) and Distillers Corporation were leaders in South African alcoholic beverage markets. United, the companies were rebranded as Distell, integrated their supply chains, and initiated a focus on new product development specifically for international markets. Distell then redesigned its demand planning, production planning, and distribution processes. The company established a forecasting process in which sales and marketing teams start with a statistical forecast and then adjust it for market factors, sales promotions, and new product introductions. This sales forecast becomes input for production planning at Distell's 18 wineries and distilleries, as well as the input for deployment planning. This approach was supported by mySAP Supply Chain Management.
