Princes Group: SIMATIC IT Framework to Streamline Manufacturing Operations

Overview With over 1,300 employees and a £700 million turnover, Princes Group is one of the UK's Top 20 suppliers to the retail and food service industry, with a range of more than 400 product lines. After the success and the results of Mercury Project, providing complete integration between the existing business system (SAP) and shop floor (PLCs) Princes Group decided to implement a second project (ZEUS) aimed to optimize better and more consistently Bradford plant's functionalities (see fig. above). Any Manufacturing Execution System (MES) considered had to be flexible, highly configurable and adaptable to accommodate the dynamic nature of the food and drink industry. the company selected SIMATIC IT Framework.
