Oracle Streams - Replication Tips and Techniques

Overview Oracle Streams is a uniquely flexible feature for information sharing within Database 10g. The three basic elements of Oracle Streams, capture, staging, and consumption, can be configured in a number of different ways depending on the business requirements. Streams can replicate data from one database to one or more databases, even if those databases have differences in structure or naming conventions. Oracle Streams can consolidate data from multiple databases into a single database, or share and maintain data in multiple master databases, where users at each database update the same tables. This paper discusses tips and techniques for using the Oracle Streams technology in Oracle Database 10g.
