Overview This paper has two objectives. The first is to update the business community on the wireless front: more specifically, to summarize recent advances in devices, services and applications. The ubiquitous cell phone links the business and personal sides of the lives; however, most everything else is an island solution. One employs various wireline and wireless devices to access different public and private networks that use different communications protocols. It's a chaotic way of working that one takes for granted but it's set to change, as this paper will demonstrate. The second objective is to underline the importance of the business sector to network operators and service providers.
